WTF Taxidermy: A Community Dedicated to Bizarre Taxidermy

r2d2rat

Some taxidermists can really go over the top with their mounted pieces. And a few, I believe are certifiably insane. “WTF Taxidermy” is a LiveJournal community dedicated to the most bizarre of bizarre taxidermy.

Included are such classics as the Flying Jackalope, the R2-D2 Rats and really, just a whole crap load of oddities. The best part is that most of them are available to buy on eBay or Craigslist.

Craiglist Ditching Erotic Services Section: There Goes Your Love Life

craigslist1

The day you’ve been dreading has finally arrived. Criagslist has announced that they will be removing the free-wheeling “erotic” services section of their site and will replace it with an “adult” section. Every post in the adult section will be hand moderated.

Apparently taming the shrew just wasn’t enough. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!!!

Craigslist Rids Itself Of Hooker Infestation

When I’m browsing through Craigslist, I’m not looking for a new roommate or a new job. I’m looking for a hummer. Unfortunately for me, Craigslist has reached an agreement with 40 state AGs and has decided to tame its infamous “erotic services” listings. Sucks to be the guy looking for “quality” prostitutes online.

When the Attorney General of Connecticut sent a letter to Craigslist demanding that it purge its site of illegal activity, CEO of Craigslist, Jim Buckmaster, agreed. So, what’s Craigslist going to do to keep the hookers out? Craigslist is now asking that advertisers provide valid identification. Erotic services vendors will be charged a small fee for each ad and will be required to use a credit card for the payment. As we all know, hookers have no credit. Problem solved.

The Aftermath: First-Generation iPhone Prices

Now that WWDC is over and a $199 8GB iPhone 3G has been announced for July 11th, are people ready to sell their first-generation iPhones on the cheap? Not yet it seems. We scoped out popular sites like eBay, Craigslist (NYC) and Google Shopping to see if anyone was ready to let their iPhone go for under $200.

Naturally, we don’t expect an exodus of old phones until after July 11th, but here’s what we found so far:

  • 8GB iPhone Unlocked & Jailbroken No Reserve!!! – $299.99 (eBay)
  • I PHONE 8GB JAILBROKEN GPS WIFI WORKS GOOD – $179.00 (eBay)
  • 8GB iPhone – Unlocked – Firmware 2.0 Beta Installed! – $200 (Craigslist)
  • Iphone 8gb UNLOCKED & JAIL-BROKEN – $425 (Craigslist)
  • Apple iPhone (8GB) iPhone – $199.99 (Google Shopping)
  • Apple iPhone (8GB) iPhone 100% Unlocked – $549.95 (Google Shopping)
  • Sorry guys. Looks like the best deal out there is around $200. Might as well keep waiting.
