A sad year for comedy, indeed. George Carlin was admitted to St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California on June 22, 2008. He was complaining of chest pain upon admission and was known to have a history of cardiovascular issues. He died later that day at 5:55 p.m. PDT of heart failure at the age of 71.

A few pranksters from the comedy troupe Improv Everywhere set up house at a Starbucks, fully equipped with full desktop computers and monitors in hand.
