Facebook’s Gross National Happiness Index Measures How Collectively Miserable We Are

facebook-big-brother

Facebook has been going all Big Brother on us, tracking our emotions and plotting it on their Giant Happiness Index of Death, without OUR PERMISSION! I’ll be suing, but more on that later. Interestingly enough, the saddest day of the past few years wasn’t Michael Jackson’s death. No, that was only our second lowest point. We were even worse off on January 22, 2008, the day of Heath Ledger’s death and the subsequent Asian stock market crash, which no doubt happened because of Ledger’s death in the first place.

Our happiest moments are holiday’s such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Happiness nearly doubled on Election Day with the presidential victory of President Obama, proving once and for all that Facebook is run by a vast liberal conspiracy.

Don’t forget to join us on Facebook and share how miserable you are!

The Buzz versus The Bulge: Caffeine vs. Calorie Chart Proves You’re a Fatty

buzz-vs-bulge-caffiene-chart

I’m sort of an odd breed of geek. I haven’t drank a significant amount of caffeine, meaning more than a sip of Coke, in more than two years. I know that most of you probably down energy drinks like they’re water, so you might like to see this visual representation of the ratio between caffeine and calories for certain favorite foods and beverages.

The Buzz versus The Bulge chart illustrates that geeks don’t always make the smartest decision, calorie wise. Unless your downing iced coffee as your main source of caffeine you’re probably downing more calories than you think. And you, fatty, drop the Hazlenut Mocha.

Movie Monster Size Comparison Chart

So basically, Clover from Cloverfield was one gigantic mothatrucka. Even bigger than Godzilla himself.

The biggest surprise for me is how tiny the T-Rex is from Jurrasic Park. He’s only double the height of the Wicked Witch of the West and looks practically comedic next to Clover, Godzilla and the Tripod from War of the Worlds.

Finally, a comprehensive diagram depicting the freaky sex orgies between the mutants of X-Men. There are more twists and turns here than a full season of daytime soaps (not that I watch them, of course). With all of the poon, you know Wolverine has caught the herp.

Get a room. Wait… super catastrophic banging powers? Get a planet! Check out the full-scale image here.

I can’t tell you how many jams this thing has gotten me out of.

App Growth: Palm vs Apple

chart

Oh boy. This chart is just TOO GOOD not to post. It shows how long it took Apple to roll out 50,000 applications on its App Store (about 10 months) and compares that to Palm’s turtle-esque growth. After more than ten years, the Palm OS (not to be confused with the Pre’s WebOS) had only ~29,000 apps. What does that tell you? I’ll tell you what I think: Dinosaurs are dead. Move with the trend at a blinding pace or you’re not going to be able to make the cut. I’m looking at you, Palm.

Mac OS X Compatibility Chart For The Latest Netbooks

Interested in running Mac OS X on your new netbook? Then check out this compatibility chart provided by Rob Beschizza of Boing Boing Gadgets. Because Apple takes its sweet time on all of its ideas, netbook users have taken it upon themselves to try and get the Mac operating system running on various different netbooks.

According to Rob, the ideal choice for installing OS X are the MSI Wind or Dell Mini 9. Both of which can be turned in to a hackintosh with little problems. There are still some shades of gray on the chart, but it’s everyday users who will figure out these compatibility issues, not Apple.
