Aviation Innovation: Getting Higher Than Ever Before

Powering jet planes with eco-friendly biofuels such as algae has been done before and yet, I’m still being charged an arm and a leg by the airline companies who are still stuck in the past, burning up high emission jet fuels. Deep down in my heart I have always known that marijuana is not only a powerful medicine, but that hemp oil is also a useful and renewable energy source. Just ask DuPont.

Come early December, Air New Zealand will have a Boeing 747 fly off, powered by a new type of jet fuel made from marijuana. A mixture of both biofuel and conventional fuel will run one of the plane’s engines and the developers of the biofuel, UOP, are hoping it will cut down on carbon-dioxide emissions. They’re also hoping it will get everyone on board high as a kite.

Performance Enhancing Drugs In Pro-Gaming

With all this talk of doping and illegal performance enhancing drugs in sports, isn’t it about time someone took a look at drug-use in professional gaming?

Slow And Steady Wins The War On Drugs

Growing marijuana is a crime and that’s a damned shame. It’s no mystery that it’s a great pain reliever and can turn any award winning drama into a laugh-out-loud comedy. The war on drugs has always been a controversial topic in the realm of political agenda and the media. It’s only getting more controversial now that they’re busting growers with GPS turtles. Yes, GPS turtles.

After reports of several marijuana fields throughout Rock Creek Park south of the DC/Maryland line, the U.S. Park Police set up surveillance. Ordinarily that would mean they equipped the area with strategically placed cameras, but instead they exposed this grower with help from a box turtle fashioned with a GPS device. They eventually found the little guy crawling through a big pot field. What a terrible way to go down…busted by a turtle.

Marijuana Is A Powerful Medicine

Scientists have thoroughly proven that marijuana can be used to treat pain, inflammation, atherosclerosis, and osteoporosis thanks to a chemical found in the plant called beta-caryophyllene.  When smoked, this pushes a biological button, which then soothes the immune system, increases bone mass and blocks pain signals.

Since beta-caryophyllene may prove quite beneficial for users, the chemical itself could become an ideal  medication. This could lead to it being developed in pill-form, severing its connection with cannabis and becoming a standalone medication that won’t have you hearing the magic chord. Wait…this is supposed to be good news?
