Concept Nike Glasses Allow Bikers To See Their Surroundings

Trust me, I know how important it is to see all of your surroundings when you’re biking. When I was 12 I was hit by a drunk driver. I can only think of what might have happened if I had been able to see what was going on around me. Would I have been able to avoid the hit?

The Nike Hindsight concept glasses give bikers an extra 25% visual range on each side of their peripheral vision. That’s a few extra feet that can literally save your life. The extra angle helps riders see traffic approaching from different angles. It sucks getting hit by a car. Really. You should do everything in your power to avoid it.

Safe Turn Gives Bikers A Blink

Cycling is in the midst of a come back. With environmental fears and urban build-up making cars seem less and less like a smart transportation option, bikes are the choice of many city dwellers. The problem is that there are still way more cars than bikers, putting cyclists at risk of being run down by some disgruntled rush hour driver (notice the white-knuckled clenched hands on the pictured steering wheel).

Safe Turn is a fully-automatic turn signal for bikers which you can wear right on your wrist. When you raise your arm to show drivers you’re about to turn, the Safe Turn light automatically blinks to life, catching the attention of any driver that might be lost to tunnel vision. (more…)
