The Dark Knight: The First Warner Film With BD-Live

Disney isn’t the only one releasing Blu-ray movies with BD-Live, a feature that enables you access content via the Internet. Warner Home Video has announced its first BD-Live enabled Blu-ray film will be The Dark Knight.

Some of the features included with the movie are My WB Commentary, which allows users to record their own commentary on the movie and overlay in picture-in-picture style on the film as it plays. Additionally, The Dark Knight will feature BD-Live community to allow fans to schedule screenings with friends and chat with other viewers as the movie plays. Look for the Blu-ray version on store shelves December 9th.

Batman’s Latest Spy Technology

Is this a spy cam created by the military or is it Batman’s latest gadget? Of course it’s a piece of technology made by the military; Batman is a fictitious comic book character. The Army has awarded the University of Michigan College of Engineering a five year $10 million dollar grant to develop this robotic spy plane which bears an uncanny resemblance to a bat.

It’s called the COM-BAT and it’s concept was conceived by the US military for the purpose of gathering real-time data for soldiers. The folks behind the design are also huge fans of The Dark Knight. It’s a six-inch surveillance device that is powered by solar, wind and vibrations. So much for my idea of bat droppings as fuel.

LEGO Batman Cake Looks Like In-Game Footage

That’s a cake. No, really, it’s a cake. I’m telling you man, you’ve got to believe me - it really is a cake.

The LEGO Batman launch party must have been a huge success because Elisa Strauss of Confetti Cakes showed up with this masterpiece of fattening goodness. Once again, it is a cake.

Hot Air Balloon Soars To A Galaxy Far, Far Away

In a world of good-guy smugglers and noble Jedi, one Sith must instill fear any way he can. That’s why Darth Vader built this hot air balloon. Not just because the town fare is approaching and Vader wanted to make sure he’ll be soaring high next to the Yogi bear and Batman inflatables but because Vader wishes to scare away would-be padawan learners with his hot air balloon visage.  Be careful: one collision with a Star Destroyer and it’s all over.

Sell That Google Stock: Batmobile For Sale on Ebay

Stop the fucking presses and grab your dick and hold on, ’cause you’re in for a ride my main man. Turns out some dude is auctioning off a real Batmobile from the original Tim Burton flick on eBay. With gas the way it is nowadays, I can’t blame him for selling the car but wow, what a beauty! It’s almost as tight as the Tumbler from TDK. Hit the jump for the exact details and a link to the auction. It’s currently going for $110,000, so no cheapskates.

A True Dark Knight Fan

I thought I was a Dark Knight fan. I have the fly joker kicks, the sweet action figures to play with and I even have bat wings tattooed in place of my eyebrows so people know I’m a real fan. But no, that wasn’t good enough. Some other fan boy had to out shine me and now, the tattoos bring nothing but ridicule.

Thanks a lot Bob Dullam. You just had to go and build the Batman Tumbler all by yourself, showing everyone that your fanboyism can’t be outdone.  Just you wait, Dullam. Next year, when Watchmen comes out, I’m going to build the most eye-popping Watchmen vehicle ever.  Wait, what does the Night Owl drive?

Custom Joker Shoes Make Others Look Nervous

Know what makes people go batshit? The Dark Knight. Get it? Get it? C’mon!

Shitty jokes aside, check out these custom-made Converse Chucks from SweatShop Clothing. Looks like the design team over there really had a hard-on for Heath (RIP) as they really went to town on this pair of kicks. All four suits in a deck of cards plus an image of the Joker’s face add to the look, including text that says “WHY SO SERIOUS?” That should be enough to send chills down your spine if you saw the movie.

The Dark Knight Reviewed

I’m not going to sit here and discuss the movie with you. I’m not going to reveal spoilers, what I like, what I didn’t like or anything of the sort. Instead, you must see it. The movie is near flawless and is now my favorite movie ever. The cast gives a mind-blowing performance, with Aaron Eckhart and Heath Ledger handling the villains of the movie with incredible demeanor. Bale is still one of the best at playing Batman and Maggie Gyllenhall handles the role of Rachel much better than Katie Holmes did in Batman Begins.

There’s more ass-kissing to be done but seriously, you need to see this movie on the big screen. Sure, about five different CAMs are available, including the 2Bros release I got the other night. Just see it in the theater, I must insist. This is a movie literally made for the silver screen (six scenes were shot with IMAX cameras) and I’m so happy I could see it opening night to help contribute to the whopping 8 RECORDS it broke. Those records?

Why So Serious With That Poker Face?

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past week then you probably missed out on the news about The Dark Knight being an amazing film and achieving the critical success that was expected of it. So, of course they’re going to release every known merchandise that exists into a Dark Knight theme. Like poker? So does the Joker. No, not the dead one, the timeless comic book variety.

The Dark Knight Joker Poker set is limited edition and ships in August and costs $85. Included is a deck of Joker gimmick cards as well as another four suit deck and poker chips defaced by the Joker, himself (not the dead one). Have a lousy poker face that isn’t fooling anyone? Simple solution: the Joker solution. Cut a smile into your cheeks, no one will no whether or not you’re serious, they’ll just know you’re psychotic.
