The iPhone at CeBIT…no, not that iPhone

linksys1_4

Linksys presented its VoIP phone, the iPhone CIT 400 at CeBIT 2007. You might know it as the uglier iPhone. This is the first time the Linksys iPhone has been publicly presented. It earned much more attention than it would have because of the legal uproar between Linksys and Apple over the iPhone moniker.

The Linksys iPhone is an internet telephony VoIP phone that is meant to be used with VoIP services such as Skype. There really isn’t anything to overly impressive about the CIT 400, but it is worth mentioning because of the coveted iPhone branding. Although much criticism has been wrought over the Linksys iPhone, compared to the Apple iPhone, any product seems to dim, but we are sure it’s a well made product, much like the popular Linksys routers and wireless internet cards.

Rumor: iPhone to play World of Warcraft

Sans_titre_1_copie.jpg

Here’s a little piece straight off of the rumor mill. A source is saying that the Apple iPhone will be enabled to play the number one PC game of the last few years, World of Warcraft. The iPhone, which is poised to be a revolutionary handheld, would be the first mobile phone of its kind. The source says “Steve goes big and WoW is as big as they come when it comes to on-line games”. While this is clearly just a rumor as of now, if this were to pan out it would be an explosive addition to the iPhone and its sales. And even if it’s not true, a phone even being rumored to play a PC game such as WoW has got to mean something for the marvel to come. — Andrew Dobrow

Haier announced its Y-MP3190 to an eager audience at CES 2007. The MP3 phone is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. With a sleek black design and a miniscule measurement of 3.5×1.25×0.75-inches of compact technical glee.

The Haier phone supports MP3 playback, OLED display options, an FM stereo tuner, a Bluetooth stereo transmitter, a USB memory drive, a voice recorder, an internal memory of 128MB, and a trans-flash memory expansion slot to cater to data hounds and MP3 pirates.
