Games I Dream I’m In

We all have games that indirectly inspire our dreams. There may be even some that give us nightmares. Some games you can’t help but wish you were the main character of just so you can get with the princess at the end of the story. Hit the jump to see the games that I dream I’m in, whether it be a dream of cold steel and dungeons or espionage and poison capped teeth.

Nike Truck Crushes Little Kids

Mountain Dew’s Action Sports Tour is headed our way and Nike really wants to make peoples’ jaws drop. For their campaign, they hired the ad/design firm Hub Strategy who worked on this armor-plated war truck, turning it into a mobile extreme sport HQ. But, what makes this monstrous truck so extreme? It’s not the skateboard ramp on the back or the rails surrounding it. It’s not even the wakeboard water tower. It’s the ass-load of Mountain Dew this thing’s going to have in its camper when it goes on tour around the country.

Nike 6.0 Ill Mobile is its name and being extreme is its game. How extreme? It’s like riding in a parajet car with no helmet while Tony Hawk sitting passenger side throws money in your face. They built this monstrosity in only three weeks. Now, they plan on taking it around the country, frightening little kids and crushing any who can’t best its vert ramp.

Nintendo Finally Is Sick Of Pirates

At long last, Nintendo has taken legal action towards companies developing and distributing DS pirating tools, such as the R5 or R4. Nintendo, backed by 54 game software companies including Capcom, SNK, Taito, Tecmo and Square Enix are filing a lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court against companies that profit from Nintendo’s losses.

Nintendo stated that this piracy, “is causing severe damage to our company and software makers, and this is something that we cannot possibly overlook.”

Overlooking it for the past four years was a bad idea, Nintendo. Maybe if you cranked out more drinking games, people wouldn’t find the need to steal your software. To be fair, it is easier to download games from home than to drive to your local retail store. Pirates are lazy.

Flee Aerial Digital Camera Allows For Soaring Shots

Here’s a really cool gadget that was totally made for the extreme sports industry. It’s called the Flee Digital Camera and was designed for aerial photography. It looks like a NERF toy of some sort crossed with badminton and it works like so:

As soon as the Flee launches, it begins to snap multiple photos at a speed interval of your choice. By the time it returns to earth, not only will it have a slew of aerial photographs, but it will automatically deliver them to your mobile phone via Bluetooth.

Like I said, sounds like it could be used for skydiving, snowboarding, cycling, wakeboarding, etc. Of course, you could get real dirty and shove one up your wife’s…

Big Lebowski Action Figures Don’t Make You “The Dude” But Close Enough

The Big Lebowski Urban Achiever Set. Featuring the Dude joined by Walter as they get ready for an intense bowling match with The Jesus. Each figure is 8″ tall and the set goes for $40 when they’re available in August.

Also, the Dude comes solo in a $25 dollar variation clad in his famous robe standing on top of the rug and it even includes a replica White Russian.

In the great words of the Big Lebowski: “What makes a man, Mr. Lebowski? Is it being prepared to do the right thing, whatever the cost? Isn’t that what makes a man?” The Dude replies, “Hmmm… Sure, that and a pair of testicles.”

DIY: Iron Man Arc Reactor

The Iron Man movie was awesome and we’ve all seen the crazy fanboys dressing up in cosplay costumes. The next take on the DIY arc reactor is very Robert Downey Jr and we think that’s a good thing (these days). Remember the terrible chest piece Tony Stark had to create to keep him self alive? Making your own isn’t too tough either; you just need to stand close to some explosive projectile.

Once it pierces your chest, the hard part is over. Gathering materials and soldering will be the least of your worries. Unfortunately, you can’t shoot impulse blasts from your chest with this arc reactor but at least you won’t have to settle for shitty life support.

Homemade Iron Man Suit Does Not Make You Tony Stark

Damn! That is one sharp-looking Iron Man suit! Too bad if a bunch of terrorist fucks rolled up on you in Afghanistan, you’d be shit out of luck. Still, this is about as close to the real Tony Stark as you can get. Made by Andrew Le, who clearly has a lot of times on his hands, the electromagnet/arc reactor/beam-of-light in the middle of Iron Man’s chest even lights up and helps bring the pain to the fourth-period lunch table.

I saw the film last night at a midnight screening and it really is one of the best Marvel flicks yet. Robert Downey Jr. is PERFECT for the role of Tony Stark and I really think you’ll enjoy seeing it this weekend.

Feel the wind in your hair with the D-Box GP-100 Racing Chair

d-box gp-100 race chair

It’s a feeling that many consider to be exclusive to driving a brand new luxury convertible. That feeling is no longer exclusive because you can get it in your gaming room if you are willing to shell out $15,000. Your small fortune will buy you the D-Box GP-100 racing chair. This chair will revolutionize the way that you play racing games. Why? Because you feel even the little bumps in the road. You feel them through the motors that push and pull you in three axis: up down, left right, and forward backward. This means that you will definately know when you are making that hard left when it should have been a leisurely drift around that long turn. You will also know when that jackass of an AI driver slams into your rear bumper because you just might get whiplash. Games are becoming more and more like real life, and while these kinds of accessories aren’t cheap, they are beginning to revolutionize the way that we play games. Even little things like Guitar Hero and DDR make games more involved; you don’t have to sit in your favorite comfy chair anymore. — Nik Gomez
