Ultra-Realistic Michael Jackson Thriller Action Figure

michael-jackson-thriller-action-figure

Looking almost more like Michael Jackson than Michael Jackson looked like Michael Jackson, this ultra-realistic set of Thriller Action Figures features MJ in both his normal pre-surgical and pre-allegation days, with iconic red leather jacket, and also in his much-touted zombie form.

Thriller is probably my favorite music video of all-time. Having a Michael Jackson Thriller action figure to show off in my office with my other various toys would just add to my overall awesomeness.

Collectable Kid Little Mac Figure

little_mac

One of the first action figures I built myself was none other than Richter Belmont from the Castlevania series. It took a lot of work, paint and spare parts but it came out alright in the end. But it doesn’t matter. Collectable Kid puts me to shame with this recreation of Little Mac from Punch Out!. To top it off, it’s based on the newer Wii version of the game as opposed to the 1980’s classic.

If you want to see more creations, their available on CK’s MySpace page. Why a guy this creative is using MySpace is beyond me but hey, to each his own.

Toys That Make No Sense: Mickey Mouse Tron Toy

mickey_mouse_tron_wxp

OK, I know that Disney released the original Tron film in 1982. And I get that Mickey Mouse is the de facto symbol of the company. But other than that, what the fuck does Mickey and Tron have in common?

An ASIMO of Our Own: 1/8 Scale Action Figure For The Masses

asimo_p3197736

Sure, you could argue that this 6″ tall ASIMO action figure is only 1/8 the bot that the real ASIMO is, but mini-ASIMO would beg to differ. It’s the heart and soul of a robot that really matter! Everything else is just scrap metal.

The time for us to have a real ASIMO bot in our home will eventually come, but for now, I’d settle for the miniature. Oh, and ladies, he’s robotomically correct!

Watchmen’s Rorschach Masked and Unmasked Action Figures

maskedunmasked

If you haven’t seen Watchmen yet there are a few (but not too many) essential sights you have missed before you can say you’ve truly lived. For one, you’ve missed seeing a gigantic CGI-enhanced blue penis. You’ve also failed to witness the unmasking of the antihero Rorschach a.k.a. Walter Kovacs. Reading his blog would be a good start at getting to know this mysteriously masked man, but how well can you really understand a man without looking him in the eyes?

Luckily for all of you who haven’t dropped the $10 to see the movie, Play.com offers a 6″ Rorschach action figure in both the masked and unmasked varieties. For spoiler purposes the face has been blocked out. Don’t they realize that Rorschach can be found unmasked across the net? Hint: He’s a ginger!

Terry Bogard Action Figure

terry2

I can’t even begin to tell you about the excitement that filled my body when I came across this fucking incredible Terry Bogard action figure. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Terry, he’s from the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters series of fighting games from SNK Playmore. This figure is the coup de grace of all things KOF related but alas, all good things must come to an end.

That’s because this lovely figure isn’t available for purchase. Ugh.

No, this is a custom made action figure made from old Ken and Ryu figures with a custom paint job thrown in. It was designed and conceived by one Kyle Robinson, custom action figure maker extraordinaire. Hit the link to check out more of Kyle’s work and then we’ll both let out a collective sigh together. Deal? Good.

DIY Dead Space Action Figures

Designing your own action figure shows that you have a lot of dedication and heart for a particular comic/video game/series/whatever. Usually the best way to go about designing your own action figure is to start with another model and modify it. This is exactly how creator Chris Hooton designed Isaac from Dead Space. He took an old Cyclops figure from the Marvel Legends line, which looks just like Isaac unmodified, and gave it a paint job. The bloody torso on the ground is a nice touch. Nice work, Chris.

Headcrab Zombie Action Fig Brings The Fun

For anyone who played it back in the 1990s, the original Half-Life holds a special place in their heart. Whether it was the infamous Gordon Freeman crowbar or Barney’s terrible one-liners, you can’t deny that the first ass you kicked was a headcrab’s. A Kotaku reader named Mark decided to design his own action figure that closely resembles a security guard getting killed by a headcrab. I’m actually quite disappointed I can’t purchase one. It’d look great next to my TFC poster.

If Iron Man And The Hulk Had A Love Child

hul-buster-iron-man-figure.jpg

As disturbing as the image of Iron Man and The Hulk fornicating might be, I want you to think really hard. What would their love child look like if the two superheroes were to mate? Does it look like the pictured figure, or perhaps more green? Iron Man fan Jin-Saotome created this action figure, which he calls the Hulkbuster Iron Man.

In other words, it’s an educated guess on what the offspring would look like if Iron Man and The Hulk made whoopee. OK, not really, the Hulkblaster is just an awesome feature of the Iron Man’s canon weapon armor. Though if that ever were to happen, we would be better apt fearing for our life when the break-up argument ensued. — Andrew Dobrow
