Apple fans are in for exciting times the next few weeks. Sources are reporting that the new iMac could be announced on August 7. Also being reported is the possibility for the announcement of the new iLife suite, which would boost the Mac name for back-to-school season.

The iMac update would mark the first major upgrade of the desktops since January of 2006, when the iMac’s were announced with Intel processors. The new Mac’s are also rumored to have a new sleek aluminum enclosure. As for the iLife rumor, we don’t find it very likely that iLife will be announced / released until closer to the release of Leopard. — Andrew Dobrow
