Japanese Robot Teaches Children

I really have to lay off the news from Akihabara and Tokyo. Every time I write about something that’s from Japan, it’s usually disgusting, weird or downright wrong. Here we have a robot that acts as a teacher for first graders in Japan. It can speak various languages, take attendance, and has over 18 motors for controlling facial expressions. Creepy? I think so.

How are you going to ask it a question? What if a first grader doesn’t understand a math problem? Does anyone want to explain how this is a good idea?
