If you’re devoted to leaving as little of a carbon footprint as possible, or if your name is Fred Flintstone, the HumanCar Imagine PS by Charles Greenwood is one of the greenest vehicles you’ll ever see. The HumanCar sits four and is powered through human power via cranking / paddling.
When four people are cranking away, the car can travel at speeds up to 60 MPH on human power alone, though there is a reserve electric battery for occasions when you have less passengers. Each HumanCar cost a bit over $15,000 and already 100 have been pre-ordered. The commerical-version of car will also come with a weather-proof top, a touchscreen display with GPS and biometric data logging, sound, computer and communications systems.
