According to the research made by Pewinternet.org, a whopping 90% of American adults own a cell phone. And if that isn’t enough, about 44% of cell phone owners sleep with their devices next to them just to make sure that they don’t miss any important updates by the night.

The numbers are quite astounding, isn’t it? It just comes to show how keen people are when it comes to connecting with each other.

The figures is also a good reminder of how massive the cell phone industry has become; and how powerful the cell phones are becoming.

However, while the cell phone industry is currently experiencing such a boom, it’s quite surprising to see that there aren’t much cellular phone directories in the market; at least there aren’t enough of them that provide a big enough database of cell phone numbers to be effective – let alone the fact that they charge such hefty fees for their services.

That being said, allow me to share with you 2 ways that you can find somebody else’s cell phone number for free.

1) Use Google’s advanced search query

There is more to using Google’s search engine than just typing in your keywords. If you want to get better and more targeted results, then you can use Google’s advanced search queries.

These advanced search queries are what most marketers use to find influencers in their industry; and connecting with them to help them with their PR.

If the marketers are able to find specific influencers in their niche, through these search queries, then what’s stopping us from using the same exact techniques to find someone else’s phone number, right?

Since there are gazillions of these advanced search queries, I’ll share with you one which I think will be of great help to you in terms of finding someone else’s phone number.

Use the “” and the + symbol.

Instead of simply typing in the person’s name (e.g. John Richards phone number), you can type in city/state “John Richards” + cell number, instead.

The “” symbol tells Google to bring you the exact match of the keywords that you typed in.

Therefore, you won’t find any other words or names between the words John and Richards because Google will bring you the exact keyword that you typed in which is “John Richards”.

2) Use cellular directories

I know what you’re thinking…

I did say awhile ago that most cellular directories do not have enough cell numbers in their database to be effective, and they charge enormous fees.

However, after having used NationalCellularDirectory’s Happy Hour service, I was able to find the cell number of the people that I was looking for – for free!

The Happy Hour service allows you to use their “premium people search” service for just about 1 hour per day, 7 days a week.

If you’re looking for other cellular directories, you can use fonefinder.net, mobilephoneno.com and phonesearches.com (among others). However, for the most part, NCD’s database of cellular phone numbers have proven to be quite effective for me so they’re the only cellular directory I use.
