Car Bombing Turns Artsy

carbombing.jpg

While we were never under the assumption that car bombing could be demonstrated cinematically as an art form, we have been proven wrong. The “I Want To Believe” exhibition from artist Cai Guo-Qiang at the Guggenheim Museum in New York displays 9 suspended cars, sequencing the movements of a car bombing.

Enhanced with a spectacle of lit strands and a great sense of complex balance, “I Want To Believe” is all the proof we need to show that even horrific events can be made artsy if you have the supplies. — Andrew Dobrow
