Apparently, Prosthetic Limbs Are Getting ‘Sexy’

Who would have thought that an artificial limb could be designed to be aesthetically appealing?

Japanese designer Shunji Yamanaka is an innovative man who crafts prosthetic limbs specifically designed to suit the female physique. His designs aren’t just functional — they’re actually pretty appealing as far as visual aesthetics. With smooth contours, sculpted curves and subtle design details, Yamanaka isn’t just a designer — he’s an artist.

The designs are formed in a way that “flatters”, creating the impression of a full limb when worn underneath clothing.

Though these designs are still in early concept mode, they could offer an attractive option for amputees and other people looking for options for prosthetic limbs.
