Of course, we’re talking about the “Achievement Unlocked” notification from the Xbox 360.
Until now, users wanting to make use of this iconic sound had to go through less-than-perfect venues to procure it — like extracting the audio from a youtube video of the achievement sound. However, today Major Nelson (an official Xbox rep) released a link to download the sound — completely free — on his blog. There’s even a separate link for the *.m4r format that’ll work on your iPhone.
I don’t know about you, but this will make for a pretty awesome text message notification sound for my phone.
