WaveRoller: Wave generated energy in action, from concept to reality

wave2_1.jpg

Energy has been created using water power for a long time, but nothing even comes close to this. The WaveRoller is a device anchored to the sea floor, which has moving plates which sway with the movement of the waves. The kinetic energy created is stored in a piston pump, and then can be converted to electricity using a hydraulic system.

The system used a natural occurring event called the “bottem wave” phenomenon. Which basically explains that on the floor of the sea, waves cause elliptical motions rather than circular motions. These waves are also more frequent and constant than wind. Take the jump for a informative pic and a video link of the WaveRoller in action.
