The lovely C60 Redux from the design-fiction wizards of IDEO—based on a concept elaborated in the technosynaesthetic manifesto I Miss My Pencil—is a compelling idea. It’s got a whiff of retronovation about it; keeping track of stuff like cards, after all, is something the existence of the Internet is supposed mean we don’t have to do. But there’s an interesting kind of tangential, remixed nostalgia at work here, too: mixtape and turntable, meet the collectible bubble-gum card. [Via Music Machinery's Paul Lamere, who wistfully describes a very similar concept of his own dating back a few years.]
