Blackberry Tour Hits Verizon Next Month
Verizon users are grinning. There’s finally a new phone in the pipes that people will actually want to buy. It’s the Blackberry Tour and it costs as much as an iPhone 3GS and drops July 12th. What’s that magic $199 price tag net you? The Tour of course can do 3G but it also has a nice 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, a 480×360 display, Bluetooth and GPS. While the lack of WiFi is disappointing, it’s hardly surprising for a Verizon... Continue reading
Groove On This, Hippie: Free Phish Downloads
Some of us at Gearfuse enjoy the jam band Phish. Others hate them, but no one can deny their almost cult-like status as musicians. Considering their reunion shows for 2009 sold out in minutes, Phish didn’t want to leave the rest of their fans hanging around with no jam to groove on. The band has announced plans to make digital downloads of each show available on their website for a limited time. They say the best things in life are... Continue reading
Joel Johnson Visits Electro-Harmonix
Any guitarist with an array of pedals most likely has one from Electro-Harmonix. The Long Island City-based company (represent!) allowed Boing Boing’s Joel Johnson in for a video tour of the factory and the results are a spectacle to behold. Did you know that Electro-Harmonix is the largest manufacturer of vacuum tubes in the world? Neither did I. Check it out and see if you can spot any pedals you may have heard of. Link
Nike Truck Crushes Little Kids
Mountain Dew’s Action Sports Tour is headed our way and Nike really wants to make peoples’ jaws drop. For their campaign, they hired the ad/design firm Hub Strategy who worked on this armor-plated war truck, turning it into a mobile extreme sport HQ. But, what makes this monstrous truck so extreme? It’s not the skateboard ramp on the back or the rails surrounding it. It’s not even the wakeboard water tower. It’s the ass-load of Mountain Dew this thing’s going... Continue reading
Nooka To Offer Glow-in-the-Dark Watch in August
If you have any taste in pop culture whatsoever, you surely heard about Kanye West’s amazing “Glow in the Dark” Tour. 15 of these badass, crazy-lookin’ watches were made especially for the tour and probably fell into the hands of N.E.R.D. and Rhianna. Luckily, Nooka realizes these will be a hot consumer item and is planning a limited edition August release. Keep an eye out if you really want this 1999-esque raver candy. No word on price but I bet... Continue reading
