Scam The Shitty Ad Companies With PayPal

paypal22

Yes, you read that correctly. I’m talking about using PayPal to scam a scammer, not vice versa. Surely you’ve clicked an ad that stated you could receive a free iPod/TV/PS3/Xbox 360/Wii, etc. When you visit these websites, you usually have to sign up for online offers with your credit card in order to claim your prize. GearDiary has explained how you can use PayPal’s credit card generator to sign up temporarily for these offers, eliminating the risk and delivering the goods.

The only downside is that, well, you kind of need a PayPal account. While I refuse to use PayPal and eBay, I know plenty of people still do and this is a great way to beat the scammer at their own game.

Fake Obama Spam Attack

Apparently, people may have actually listened to Vince and sent out fake Vice Presidential pick announcements in advance of Barack Obama’s VP selection. Obama generated a lot of buzz for the decision by telling the press that he’d announce his choice via text messages and email blasts to his supporters.

Joe Biden was named as the Vice presidential candidate this morning, but before the news actually broke there were tons of hoax emails. CNN reports there were scams claiming that Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine, and Kathleen Sebelius had been chosen. One of the e-mails came Friday morning from “obama08campaign@aol.com” and reached many prominent Washington reporters. I wonder if the pranksters behind these announcements were actually hoping to influence the selection process or if they just did it for the lulz.
