Sony’s Newest eReader: The PRS-700

Rid yourself of the burden of carrying multiple books with an eReader. It just so happens that Sony’s latest digital reader is its best yet. This new model, the PRS-700, weighs only 10 ounces and features a touchscreen for easy transition from chapter to chapter. Sony’s also added LED backlights on the sides of the 6″ screen, so you won’t have to worry about lights out time raining on your parade.

With memory that can store up to 350 books, the chances of you running out of reading material are slim. In the rare case that you do run out of material, SD and Memory Stick Duo cards can breathe new life into the eReader with new reading material of your choosing. It’s as if a library was jam packed into a PDA, without the bitchy librarian and the “one book at a time” policy.

BookGem: Eat and Read With No Page Stains Or Stickiness

If you’ve ever tried to read and eat at the same time, it can be an eye-opening experience. The two forms of enjoyment just don’t go together. They are no peas and carrots, as Mr. Gump would say. BookGem holds your book open for you, keeping it at a readable angle while you enjoy your BBQ ribs.

One thing that BookGem doesn’t do is wash your hands for you. So even if you go through all of the trouble to set up your book for meal reading, even sloppy hands will make your book stained and sticky. Remember to grab a napkin and you should be fine. Get your own for $15. — Andrew Dobrow
