Pro Flip Cup Player Gloves

We take our drinking games real seriously. Whether it be public inebriation or an intense match of Flip Cup, you’ll need gloves to make sure your hands are not only protected but also comfortable for reduced muscle strain. That’s just what the manufacturer of these gloves promise: a glove that will aid performance in a game of flip cup.

When the night is late and you’re staggering home, vomiting after every five steps you take, you’ll be happy you bought these gloves when you fall to your hands and knees in crapulence. At least your friends will have been amazed at the flawless performance of Flip Cup you played earlier that night.

Considering Blu-Ray? Go with the Playstation 3

blu_ray_logo_400.jpg

I’ve written many an opinion column on why the Playstation 3 is the best console out there. After HD DVD died, my argument was strengthened further. Ryan then put the nail in the coffin by confirming that the only BD Live-enabled player on the market right now is the PS3.

A lot of talk has gone on revolving around the price of Blu-Ray players on the market. Some argue that prices have increased since HD DVD died out. Others state that prices are going down on specific players. While each side has some truth to it, the Playstation 3 remains at $399 and gives you both the best Blu-Ray player available and the most powerful gaming console on the market. Either way, consumers shouldn’t have any second thoughts about picking up a PS3 if they’re considering an HD solution for movies.

I’m glad we had this little talk. In the end, I’m just trying to keep you informed.

MP3 Cassette With SD Memory Card… And Cassette Support

cassette1.jpg

There are more than enough gadgets which look like cassettes. We can go on all night. Ironically, very few of them actually act, or have any feature, which relates to the original purpose of the cassette. This MP3 Cassette not only looks the roll, but acts the roll. We’d even go as far to say it butters the damn roll.

How cool is it that this thing lets you make your own mix tapes just by throwing some tunes onto a 2GB SD card, and slipping it right inside the cassette base. The MP3 Cassette even plays through your car’s cassette player. But don’t worry. For those times where you don’t have  a cassette player handy, the player hooks you up with both a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB port. You can get yours for $40. (more…)

Victor’s new DAP streams DRM music, records live stereo sound and adds K2 Technology

Just when we think the digital audio player (DAP) market is saturated, Victor updated their Alneo C-series audio players. They added in the K2 Technology which is supposed to extrapolate digital data to increase sound quality lost during compression. What’s unusual is that they can record sounds with 2 channels (stereo) in PCM and WMA formats; however we really doubt the difference as the 2 microphones are placed so closely together. On top of stereo recording, these DAPs also support USB streaming of WMA-DRM music, this is different from the usual iTrip or bluetooth because USB streaming will be of a much higher quality (digital vs analogue and digital vs digital recompressed). With these new features, their sizes are still kept small (86×44x11.7mm 49g). These players will support MP3, WAV and AAC files, a FM tuner is also built in. Victor claims that the battery can last for 19.5 hours, charging can be done via USB or AC. The new C-series will come in 2GB, 1GB and 512Mb (white, black, silver) models priced between $200 to $300, expect to find them in Japan early February. — Sam Chan

Swim with your MP3 player, seriously!

nu dolphin mp3 player

Nu has been selling their waterproof mp3 player NU Doplphin in Taiwan for a while, but it has only been put in the spotlight when it gets exported to Australia. First off this mp3 player is truely waterproof, as it complies with the fairly stringent IPX7 standards. Secondly the inner-earbuds are silicone-made meaning that will stay in your ears even underwater, with the other end of the chord screwed tightly onto the mp3 player. Can you press buttons under water? Oh yes of course, the buttons are found at the end of thelipstick-like body. The NU Dolphin does not have any display on top, but who cares when you strap (bundled) it next to your goggles (pictured above). The cylinder measures 60×21x21mm and weighs 25g. The casing is made of durable aluminum and is also treated to be anti-scratch. The battery transfers music (MP3/WMA) and charges via USB 2.0. When fully charged, it is good to last for 8 hours. The 1GB model is selling for $150 in Taiwan and Australia, a 2GB model will be out soon, too. — Sam Chan
