Oh Shit! Intel’s First Six-core Processors Drop

Today, Intel launched its first ever six-core processor: the Xeon 7400. While the name might not be as complex as the name Sony is giving to their new line of laptops, it certainly should be. Everything about this processor is “no joke” as it is geared towards high-end computing, like those used by the scientists working on the Large Hadron Collider.

An estimated 50-percent speed boost over its predecessor is possible as this processor peaks around 2.66GHz with 130W of power.  The new Xeons are going to be the last of their kind before Intel makes the jump to the new Core i7 architecture. Things are certainly looking fast for the computing world.

Oxygen Bag Gets Me Light Headed

When it comes to climbing, backpacks are an important part of your apparel. They carry all of your food, equipment and in some rare instances something beneficially misplaced. That’s where the O2 Bag comes in. The Japanese adventure supply company, Ymup has equipped this ordinary backpack with a battery-powered oxygen generator, making those ascents into thin-air environments all the more breathable.

The company says the battery lasts up to two hours, so your climbers better be on top of their game or else you’ll find yourself choking for air at the summit while your lungs collapse. To help boost morale, members of your climbing party should outfit themselves with a backpack boom box, because good tunes always comes first before health. While you’re at it, you might as well bring some massaging backpacks. It’s a long way to the top.

Peak Releases New Full-Size Guitar Hero Controller

You’ll never look cool playing on those plastic guitars from Red Octane that feel like they were designed for a gnome. It’s a good thing Peak is releasing these full-size wood guitars for the PS2 and PS3. Sorry, Wii and 360 rockers, looks like you’ll be playing the world’s smallest violin.

Both Guitar Hero and Rock Band are compatible with the new guitar and trust me, the groupies that’ll lay you enjoy both games equally. The Starpex guitar comes with both a wired and wireless option for connectivity. Getting too much wireless interference screwing with your chance at five star-ing Dragonforce? Plug that 15-inch cord in and you’re back in business. The Starpex will be available in August for $179.95, a price that even rock gods can appreciate.
