Pong Toss Doesn’t Quite Have A Ring To It
Remember that ridiculously stupid beer pong video Vince posted regarding the Nintendo Wii? Just when you thought your Wii might have a practical use, in comes the Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal to stereotype Wii users as minors. Originally, the ESRB had given Beer Pong a T for teen rating, regardless of blatant alcohol references, making Bluementhal upset. With all the controversy over a “drinking” game going to a system whose target demographic is children and childish fanboys, the developers... Continue reading
Famicom Sans Console
Remember that Nintendo Famicom which was built into an NES cartidge? That was cool and all, but a post on Ben Heckendorn’s console hacking forum by user Darkeru revealed a new approach which may have just one upped it. Not only did he manage to fit the NES inside the cartridge, he also has managed to embed a controller and a screen! The catch? It doesn’t play cartridges. That’s alright though, since this hack relies on games already integrated into... Continue reading

The Ultimate Guide to Nintendo DS Music Apps
We’ve talked previously about how the Nintendo DS can be used in all kinds of fun ways, including both homebrew and music. The fine folks over at Remaincalm.org have rounded up 25 pieces of audio software for your enjoyment. You’ll find everything here: drum machines, sequences, mixers, loopers, bit crush filters, trackers, MIDI interfaces, samplers, synths and so much more. After giving this list a go, you’ll be creating so many beats on your DS that people are going to... Continue reading
Midify for the Nintendo DS Available
I stumbled upon the greatest hack/mod/sandwich for the Nintendo DS. It’s called Midify and as any dork or musician could guess, it’s MIDI-related. This little board adds MIDI ports to your DS, allowing Electroplankton to shine at its full potential. Apparently the interface is very easy to work with and mapping triggers shouldn’t be a problem. At $35, DS enthusiasts will be very happy with this mod. Lots of options are available and the ability to us a DS (with... Continue reading
Discard Your WiiMotes In Favor Of Something More Fun
Let’s be square with one another: you haven’t used your WiiMotes since you got Super Smash Bros: Brawl. That’s alright though, because Tom Tlalim of the Netherlands was in the same boat as you. Using eight Nintendo Wii controllers, that previously were doing nothing more than collecting dust, Tom is able to create and manipulate sound in real time. This is made possible through a sound software known as SuperCollider, which Tim utilizes in conjunction with the eight WiiMotes using... Continue reading
Outtakes: 20 Alternatives to the Wii Fit
When we did 10 Alternatives to the Wii Fit, we originally filmed 20+ clips. We were going to do 20 Alternatives to the Wii Fit but it ended up being a long video. Above, the clips that were never shown…until today. God help you. Link
Super Mario Bros. Wall Decals
Whether you’re a kid or an adult, you’re bound to fall in love with these wall decals from Bilk. Splat ‘em on your wall and you’ll have a retro 8-bit Nintendo scene re-enacted right in front of you. You’ll find a Donkey Kong sticker pack in addition to both the original SMB and an “updated” SMB set. They all look fantastic and I’m pretty upset that these weren’t around when I was a kid. Sure, I could shit my pants... Continue reading
At Least Wii Fit is Good for Something

Video: Beer Pong for the Wii
CrunchGear posted a video of that game Beer Pong for the Wii. It looks incredibly stupid. Link
