Zune update for podcast support coming soon?

If you happen to be the proud owner of a registered Zune (as I am), then you received an odd email in your inbox today. Why was it odd? Because it was so plain. It seemed like it was just a thank you letter from Microsoft for registering your Zune. Titled “Welcome to the Social” it seems like just any other advertisement you might receive from Microsoft. OK, now to go the Zune site and you’ll notice that in the... Continue reading

Podcasting and lyrics support for Zune?

It’s probably the strongest argument against the Zune (for geeks): no podcast integration. It seems like such an easy area to build into any new portable audio device, but Microsoft missed the bar with the release of the Zune. But can Microsoft redeem itself? Of cource, the Zune supports firmware updates, an feature that Apple consistently leaves out of its iterations of the iPod. Microsoft just has to write the code into the next firmware update, and it seems that... Continue reading

If you were waiting for the Xbox 360 to drop in price, don’t hold your breath. One way that manufacturers are able to make their consoles less expensive is by reducing the size of the CPU die. Why does this allow for them to lower prices? Because they are able to fit more processors on a manufacturing run. Another small benefit of smaller dies is that they are able to run at cooler temperatures than larger dies. Microsoft had announced... Continue reading

Vista shows to have bugs: Surprise, surprise

With Microsoft’s sterling reputation as being bug-free and invincible to vulnerabilities, who would of thought that Vista would show signs of being buggy. We hope you hear the sarcasm in our voices. We’re laying it on pretty thick. One serious error of concern is a mile wide hole in IE7′s coding, which leaves web users vulnerable to malicious software just by visiting infected sites (mostly sites that feature young Cambodian teens). There was no predicting that Microsoft would release their... Continue reading

The Microsoft Zune is one of these devices capable of updates, and the new version of its firmware was just released. Users will not notice a radical difference in usability or any added features with version 1.2, but Microsoft has said that... Continue reading
