We were pretty psyched to get an early peek at the R2D2 mailboxes that the USPS distributed through the U.S. to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the series, along with Star Wars themed postage stamps. Before their emergence into public use, we told you about R2D2 mailboxes celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars. To continue the commemorative campaign, now emerges the Star Wars stamps to go along with the mailboxes. The official Star Wars stamp series comes with 15 different designs, all featuring familiar faces from the movies. About two weeks ago we reported on these R2D2 themed mailboxes in honor of Star Wars’ 30th anniversary being celebrated this year. Such an odd turn of events. R2-D2 finally getting his props as more than just some beeping robot in Star Wars.
