Macbook Pro Spy Shots

Engadget has posted a photo that’s supposedly the new Macbook Pro that’s set to be unveiled today. As we can see, it sports a redesigned case, has a glass display and is blurry as hell. Since the event is in a few hours, we’ll take this with a grain of salt. Apple‘s notebooks are really overdue for a redesign, though, so let’s see what Jobs has in store for us. Link

Carcade Raises Accident Awareness

The ultimate gaming rig has now become your car. It doesn’t sport the powerhouse graphics offered by the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 nor the gimmicky bullshit that encompasses the Nintendo Wii, but it does have a cool name: the Carcade. Students at the Berlin University of the Arts designed this “augmented reality in-car videogame” which utilizes a laptop and webcam to turn the scenery you’re driving by into the level of the game. It’s like the standard shooter except... Continue reading

DIY Barcade On The DL Bears No Shame

When you’re having company over, you can never be too sure whether or not they’re gamers. If they are, they’ll embrace your secret with open arms. If they aren’t, they’ll mock you. So, it’s best to keep your mouth shut about games and pour some drinks, instead. Burke Lashell has drinking friends, gaming friends and a whole lotta’ beer. When he turned his bar into a barcade with a flip-out four-player arcade setup and a big-screen TV mounted on the... Continue reading

Beer Filled USB Drive Might Get Skunked

When American beer meets data storage, the match almost seems like it was meant to be. Well, it wasn’t. Have you ever had beer spill onto a USB 2.0 device? Apparently CNK Promotions hasn’t, because it was daring enough to claim the world’s first beer-filled USB drive. While it can’t open a beer for you, it can create a sticky mess all over your computer. If there is one thing we’ve learned from the past, it’s that beer is only... Continue reading

Fake MacBook Mini Is Really An MSI Wind Netbook

Netbooks are all the craze these days. Everyone is wondering if Apple is going to hop on the netbook bandwagon and produce a mini MacBook. As of now, no word from Apple regarding that. On the other hand, a member of a German MSI Wind forum just couldn’t wait on Apple. He used a Dremel and six white LCD lights to turn his MSI Wind netbook into a Mac look-a-like. He even put together a mock commercial of his MacBook... Continue reading

New Sony VAIOs Make My Mouth Water

Sony has launched two new laptops that are so technologically advanced that even the tech-savvy Jerry Seinfeld has to get his hands on one. The VAIO VGN-CS180J/R and VGN-NR485E/L are their names and it just makes me wonder why computers can’t be named in the same manner that cars are. The Sony VAIO Panther would be much easier to bring up in a conversation than the mindfuck of a name that is the VGN-CS180J/R. The one pictured above is the... Continue reading

HP One-Ups Dell With 24-Hour Battery Life

After a long evening of YouTube videos of old Tex Avery cartoons, your laptop wouldn’t be nearly sucked dry if you had HP’s HP EliteBook 6930p with an ulta-high capacity battery. HP claims that it ran for 24 hours, beating out its competition, Dell, which made the Latitude line of laptops that feature only 19 hours of battery life. Given that battery life varies depending on what applications are running, results may vary. Regardless, think of all the things you... Continue reading
