Running 150 Apps On A MacBook Pro At One Time

What would it look like if you were running 150 separate applications at once on a MacBook Pro, and is it even possible? Probably something like this. The owner of this 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro with 4 GB of RAM (the same notebook I have) claims that he can run all of his 150 applications at once, with the computer still running smoothly. It seems a little far-fetched for me, but perhaps that’s the reason for MacBook mania. — Andrew... Continue reading

Manila Folder MacBook Air Case

At this year’s Macworld conference, Steve Jobs introduced the new ultra-slim MacBook Air by pulling it out of a normal manila folder to showcase its impressively anorexic design. If you thought this act of showmanship was a pretty cool idea, you’re not alone. You can now even get your own Manila Folder MacBook Air Case. Made from durable upholstery-grade vinyl and lined with fuzzy, soft fleece, the case is a piece of protective gear that fanboys can really admire. It... Continue reading

Fujitsu Unveils Laptop Made From Delicious Corn

Nom Nom Nom. Now that is what I call a tasty notebook. Don’t get us wrong. We understand laptops have quite a long way to go before they are considered a green consumer electronic, but Fujitsu is on the right track with this laptop made from a corn polymer. Similar to the material which makes up biodegradable plastic beverage cups, the polylactic acid which is the main ingredient for the casing is made from fermented biomass. So in other words,... In an announcement made to calm anxious business men and XP fans alike, Toshiba has announced that they will be shipping their Satellite T31 notebook with both XP and Vista included in the box. Hide a mouse in your laptop’s PCM-CIA slot

Not everybody is happy with the touchpad on laptops. In fact, some would even buy a separate mouse. No matter how compact they are, you’d always need to carry an extra chunk of gear (complete with cables a lot of the time). Wouldn’t it be a great solution to add a detachable mouse to all the laptops? EverGreen Japan seems to have figured it all out with a PCM-CIA slot mouse attachment. Jump to see how it works.

Windows XP Coming To OLPC In 2008

Microsoft has announced they will be testing out the One Laptop Per Child device with Windows XP, sexing up the current Linux based system. Microsoft hasn’t announced how likely an official Windows version of the OLPC XO device will appear, though if tests are successful we can expect a better idea by the second half of 2008. Adding XP to the XO device would no doubt pump the price of the OLPC project over the sub-$200 price range already selected... Continue reading

World Of Warcraft Branded Dell Laptop Gives Some Cool Extras

I gave up on PCs after I just couldn’t allow myself to see another blue screen. I feared for my laptops life if I were to ever see one again. Set for a December 11 release, the WoW Dell notebook comes in your choice of Alliance or Horde colors, sporting a... Continue reading

Awesome Antique Heirloom Laptop Mod

Man, oh man, have we seen some kickass notebook mods in our day. It feels like it was only yesterday that I was proclaiming the iTop the coolest thing since sliced bread. This Antique notebook mod is really one for the record books. Running off of Ubuntu (like that even matters when your computer looks like this), the Heirloom mod turns your laptop into something you might find laying around Grandpa’s attic. I’d be much more thrilled to find this... Continue reading
