Fashion designer Jeff Staple recently had dinner with a couple of the guys from InCase in Las Vegas. During the meal Staple got a sneak peek at one of their new iPhone 3G cases for Spring ’09. He snapped this picture of the case, which seems like it’s made with brushed aluminum. As long as it’s scratch-proof, this case would be great and highly secure. We just can’t get enough of the goodies that keep showing up in the iPhone App Store. The latest rumored application is the iHologram by David O’Reilly. It creates a holographic-like effect on the iPhone by performing real time adjustments to the image based on rotation, similar to the fake beer app. Seems pretty cool, huh? Today’s New York Times reports that many colleges are giving away free iPhones or the iPod Touch to their students. Apple hopes to hook new customers with the program and the schools involved hope to improve communications, test educational applications, and allow online research in class. Many professors are concerned that the devices will be a distraction.

Coming this fall is Palm’s Treo Pro. It’s also the first Treo to support tri-band HSDPA (faster net speed) for 3G access on AT&T and additional carriers. The American launch will start out with an unlocked, carrier-independent version at $549 that’ll feature a sleeker design than previous Treos as well as a touchscreen and a button to quickly switch its built-in WiFi on or off. Eric Ruckman was one individual disappointed by Guitar Hero: On Tour’s guitar peripheral for the DS. So, in an effort to form gameplay more faithful to the original Guitar Hero, Eric found a wireless PS2 guitar that no one wanted and cut a hole in the controller, removing all the guts. He then managed to connect the buttons of the guitar to the DS by means of wiring though the adapter. Eric is now able to play this one game... Continue reading
