Gordon Freeman In Lego-Life 2

lego-life2

Headcrabs, crowbars and G Men, oh my! This is a pretty nifty diorama made entirely out of LEGOs. It features the cast of Valve’s ultra-popular Half-Life 2. I’m really enjoying the blood on the wall and I’m really curious as to who designed that headcrab sucking on some face towards the bottom.

The Real Deal: Portal Gun

gun3

I don’t know what to say.

What do you think I should say? Look at this fucking gun. It’s a life-size 1:1 replica of the Portal gun. Like dead on to every detail. It even glows blue. What the fuck is up with that? Some chick made it for cosplay. Yeah, cosplay. Such a waste…
At least it blows previously made gunnery out of the water. (more…)

Left 4 Dead Papercraft Tank

I like killing zombies. I also enjoy Half-Life. On the other hand, seeing this papercraft Tank inspired by Valve’s latest multiplayer zombie-fest, Left 4 Dead, makes me wish I was confronted by a real life Tank face-to-face so it can bash my skull in rather than me crafting a model of it out of paper. Look how shapeless and thin it is compared to the actual Tank in the game! Still, I’ll take what I can get.

If you haven’t played Left 4 Dead, shame on you. You think Resident Evil 5 is going to be better?

Headcrab Zombie Action Fig Brings The Fun

For anyone who played it back in the 1990s, the original Half-Life holds a special place in their heart. Whether it was the infamous Gordon Freeman crowbar or Barney’s terrible one-liners, you can’t deny that the first ass you kicked was a headcrab’s. A Kotaku reader named Mark decided to design his own action figure that closely resembles a security guard getting killed by a headcrab. I’m actually quite disappointed I can’t purchase one. It’d look great next to my TFC poster.

Mucho Rumor: Google To Buy Valve?

I’m taking this rumor with the smallest possible grain of salt. After all, what business would Google have buying gaming company Valve? Sure, the Steam distribution platform is hot and Google would love to have said technology in it’s paws but what good is that going to do for the rest of Valve’s assets? I’m sure Portal and Half-Life aren’t going to go to good use under Google’s rule. Would we even see a new Half-Life title if Google purchased Valve? Who knows. Let’s sit back and pray the rumors aren’t true.

Don’t Shit Bricks! It’s Just A LEGO Sentry Gun

It might not be the coolest LEGO set to date, but it certainly is an impressive display of building blocks directly inspired by Team Fortress 2. It’s the engineer’s sentry gun from the game, used to tear through hordes of enemy scouts rushing to grab your team’s briefcase (or flag).

It was created by Steve Barker who says he’s more proud of this creation than any of his others so far.It looks nice, but can it withstand the firepower that a LEGO Johnny Five’s laser beam can distribute? Doubtful, considering how easily sentry guns are taken out in game.

Get Your Own Portal Beer Stein

portalboozestein

Raise your hand if you you like to get drunk and play video games. Alright, now that your boss is wondering why you just stuck your hand in the air, you might as well give in to your inner-gamer and quit. I mean, after purchasing this Portal-themed beer stein for $15, you’re going to be spending all your time drinking booze and playing The Orange Box on a water-cooled PS3.

There’s really not much to it. See how the portal opens up and the beer makes its way from the tap to the stein? Just move the stein and open wide. If you get really wasted, you can use that Tequilla Squirter to pretend you’re Gordon Freeman.
