BRABUS E-Class Mercedes

When most people see a Mercedes and think of performance tuning, the letters “AMG” come to mind. Understandable, but what most people tend to overlook is a little company based in Germany called BRABUS. You want your car tuned to the max? You go and visit BRABUS. Take, for instance, the 2009 Mercedes E-Class Coupe. BRABUS will turn the standard V8 engine into a 6.2-liter, 462 horsepower monster that’s capable of doing 196 MPH. Droolworthy? By all means, but remember:... Continue reading

Fixing a Hole: Guy Fixes WWII-Damaged German Buildings with LEGO Bricks

Germany took some serious damage in WWII. Just because they were kicking some ass for a few years doesn’t mean they didn’t get what was coming to them. To this day, many German buildings show the damage they sustained during the war. Jan (pronounced “Yahn,” I suppose) Vormann’s project Dispatchwork has been showing itself, piece by piece, throughout Berlin, in the form of repaired war damage. But these repairs aren’t the traditional spit-and-spackle. The bullet holes and bomb blast craters... Continue reading

Former 3D Realms Artist Reveals Duke Nukem Forever Game Renderings

Ok, so 3D Realms is pretty much dead. R.I.P. We can only assume that the long-rumored and partially-developed Duke Nukem Forever died with it. I’m not quite sure if anyone actually knew how far along the game was in its development. But if these renderings are any sort of clue, the game would have kicked ass. Former 3D Realms Art Director Tramell Isaac, recently unemployed, dropped these previously unreleased Duke Nukem Forever renderings on his blog for any future employers... Continue reading

Knitta Please: Urban Knitting Graffiti

As much as I would hate to share a hobby with my grandmother, this urban knitting graffiti project, Knitta Please, is almost cool enough for me to take up knitting. I said almost cool enough. A whole tree covered with a surface which resembles that scarf your aunt made you that one year. Now that’s taking crafting to a whole new extreme. Take the jump to see some more awesome examples.

Tattoo Barbie Gets a Tramp Stamp

Oh, man. The transformation is complete. Barbie is now officially inked. The oldest teenager in the world (can you say “mid-life crisis?”) is now offered a new world of tattoos, thanks to Mattell’s new “Totally Tattoos” line of no-mess decals. No, I am not making this up. Mattell offers a range of 40 tats to disfigure Barbie’s beautiful clear skin, including a strategically designed tramp stamp which declares her love for Ken. Didn’t they break up or divorce or something?... Continue reading

Star Trek iPhone Case

With the upcoming Star Trek movie, this case mod is the perfect idea for those of you who consider yourself true Trekkies. Looks hard to make, no? You’d be wrong, my friend. Just grab a Star Trek federation pin, rip out the Apple logo and glue that fucker right on. You’ll get plenty of cred from your trekkie friends, but girls? Not so much. Link

Virtual On Reborn On Xbox 360

Have you ever played the Dreamcast/Arcade classic Virtual On? It’s one of those wacky robot games that has a huge cult following. The Dreamcast version came with these twin arcade sticks you’d use to play the game with. Since then, nothing has come close to the same gaming experience – until now. Some Japanese dude took two candy tubes, wired out his 360 buttons and essentially, owned it. Nice work. Link

Prankster Screws with Crosswalk LEDs

This has to be one of the best street pranks ever. Spotted on the streets of Manhattan, some urban prankster had the ingenious idea of altering the “stop” hand of a traditional crosswalk light to resemble a hand flipping the bird instead. Want to cross the street? Fuck off! No really, just go away. Viva las vandalism! This is so New York City. Link [via]

Fallout Invades Your Blackberry

If you have a Blackberry and fancy yourself a Fallout 3 fan, then you’re in luck. Some modder created a working Pip-Boy theme for the Blackberry that works quite well. It comes in green and blue. It works on the Blackberry Curve so people with other models will have to do a little tweaking or just make their own. Link [via]
