Don’t you wish your home had a fancy cord-keeping system like that of an office building, library or school? Fat chance, unless you’re on a decent budget. For the rest of us, there’s this fantastic DIY cord keeper from Chris Metcalf. It involves plastic, a drill and a whole lotta love. Oh, and a little double-sided tape never hurt. Since its release in 1984, the Roland TR-909 has since become the de facto drum machine for electronic dance music. Over on Flickr, user Firegroove took apart his TR-909 to try to fix it and documented the whole process. Never again will you see such ridiculous pictures of a huge circuit board. You know what? Fuck Energizer and fuck that stupid pink bunny who keeps going and going. Batteries suck. I hate paying $4 for a 9V battery as much as you do. In fact, it’s absolute bullshit. Nixie clocks possess the subtlety of simplicity as well as a retro run-down look. The finished project looks fantastic but good luck trying to make it look like the picture.  If you aren’t interested in assembling electronics, then there’s nothing simple about this DIY.
