Today on the official Apple news blog, Steve Jobs writes about Apple’s involvement with DRM on songs sold from iTunes. Jobs says that Apple would jump at the chance for DRM-free music, but won’t for one major reason. With the recent crackings of the security measures set forth in HD-DVD and Blu-ray, it is only fitting that the DRM in the upcoming release of Windows Vista is hacked. Alex Ionesu, the man who claims to have bypasses the security, has only released very vague information due to the possibility of legal actions by Microsoft. Just when we think the digital audio player (DAP) market is saturated, Victor updated their Alneo C-series audio players. They added in the K2 Technology which is supposed to extrapolate digital data to increase sound quality lost during compression. What’s unusual is that they can record sounds with 2 channels (stereo) in PCM and WMA formats; however we really doubt the difference as the 2 microphones are placed so closely together.
