Casio has announced its’ newest addition to the Exilim family of high pixel point-and-shoot digital cameras with the EX-Z1050. This 10.1MP has a few distinguishing differences between itself and the previous EX-Z1000 model. The first thing you might notice about the Z1050 is the smaller size. The V-Gear Talkcam Tracer Webcam is not like the other cams on the market with a grainy picture. The Talkcam uses auto-focus and zooming features to keep you looking your best…well, at least the most like yourself. So while the world (maybe an exageration) is waiting for Windows Vista to be released, Microsoft has slipped out a little program titled Microsoft Photo Info. The names says it all. The program is meant for more serious digital photography buffs who want to edit the metadata of their photos from inside of Windows Explorer. It really has some nice and advanced features that let you refine the metadata to a pretty fine point.

Why does Sony love its proprietary media storage formats so much? The list just goes on with UMD, Beatmax, MiniDisc, and the Memory Stick. There seems to be no real reason for all of this. Sony cameras have had quite strong reactions from techies everywhere. As with many other Sony products, the proprietary MemoryStick is Sony’s media card of choice. This product is definately directed at a very niche market. The Ricoh 500SE camera looks a bit oversized, but there is a good reason why. It has a built in GPS chipset inside of its camera body. Also, the body is big because it has been made for rugged use. If you’ve ever dropped a camera and it went kaput, that probably won’t happen with this heavy duty camera.
