According to Billboard, the ever-popular Rock Band is due to get “as many as 5000″ new tracks this year via downloadable content. The report comes as I completed “…And Justice For All” on Expert at 100% last night. Harmonix has already released over 500 songs for the Rock Band series, putting it way above the number of tracks Guitar Hero: World Tour offers. Sure, downloadable content for Fallout 3 was announced, but what about the juicy details? You’ve heard of Operation Anchorage, the first of three DLC packs Bethesda plans on releasing, yet the other two have been kept pretty hush hush. Bethesda reveals the third DLC pack, Broken Steel, after the jump.

Already Bethesda is announcing details of its first plans for Fallout 3 downloadable content for both the PC and Xbox 360 (Sorry PS3 owners!) In addition to the expansion, Bethesda is also throwing in the long-awaited dev kit for PC users. Named the G.E.C.K. (Garden of Eden Creation) kit, this will allow players to mod the game and come up their own additions where they see fit. Hit the jump for the details.

Finally, a reason to give Mercenaries 2 some play time. The most mediocre game, ever, gets a spice of color and “maverickism,” with the ability to take both Sarah Palin and Barack Obama into the field of battle. Hijack tanks, blow up choppers and even slaughter civilians as your favorite Democratic or Republican presidential candidate.
