Japanese famous toilet maker Toto today has announced an update to their electronic toilet-ring series. The new Apricot series comes with a pair of Kenwood speakers built in and can play MP3s off the SD card you slot in, the music will start automatically as you sit on the ring, thanks to the pressure sensor. The ring is made of special material that doesn’t retain stain, so you don’t have to wash it that often theoretically, you can also cover your laziness with the fragrance that is given out at interval.  Needless to say, the toilet ring can wash you up with warm water, you can adjust the temperature, pressure as well as position to your liking. The top model F5A will be selling for a whipping $1890 this February in Japan. — Sam Chan

You know how leather shoes cannot be dumped into washing machines together with your trainers (if you do), and when leather stink, they just have to stink forever. You might have tried spraying deodorant at your shoes and leaving them in the sun hoping to kill some germs. Well, a Japanese company Shimadzu Science might just have the answer for you. Now with this fairly compact (331×320x435mm 4kg) and fairly affordable ($187) “shine and clean” (Hikari de Kirei) machine you can do all the above tasks in one go, and each cycle only takes 15 minutes. The company claimed that the ultra-violet light in there can kill up to 99% of Staphylococcus Aureus in your shoes. They even have a different (larger) model that can fit your boots in. — Sam Chan

By the year 2020, you might have a UV Cleaner very similar to this one pictured, right in the comfort of your home. We all know that one of the annoyances in life is remembering to bring your suit to the cleaners days before an event, just to wait for days more just to have it cleaned. The designers of the UV Cleaner say that this contraption will be able to clean a suit in one day, just in case someone decides to throw an impromptu formal bash, or maybe just for those times you don’t feel like driving to your local cleaners. At least you could be productively lazy.
