Unleash The Charitable Gamer Inside Of You

What better time to buy a Nintendo DS than on September 29th. Firstly, you’re getting a kick ass handheld gaming system. Second, $5 dollars of your purchase will go to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure foundation and aid in the fight against breast cancer. So, you can play your new found Nintendo DS and feel good doing it, too!

If you’re thinking the design is a little – well, feminine, I think that’s the point. But it’s not a problem! Slap some stickers over it. BAM! Now, you’ve got a custom decorated Nintendo DS and you also donated to charity. You’re a saint. A gaming saint.

Gaming For Charity

Video games can be lots of fun. Helping sick kids feel better can also feel really good. Why not combine the best of both worlds? Microsoft has done just that by teaming up with the Children’s Miracle Network to sell certain Xbox games for charity. The Xbox 360 Family Games pack will feature Viva PiƱata Party Animals, Shrek the Third and Sonic the Hedgehog, all for the price of $29.99. Not bad! At $10 a game and the fact that you’re helping a charity, you can’t do anymore good unless you’re Jerry Seinfeld.

Game hard. Do it for the kids.

Harley-Davidson and Fender Team Up For Charity

Don’t fuck with America, baby! We’ll take your charities and donate that shit into oblivion. Case in point: This limited edition run of Fender Stratocasters to celebrate the 105th anniversary of Harley-Davidson, America’s iconic, longest running motorcycle company. Fender Custom Shop has commissioned a limited quantity of strats to be produced and auctioned off to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Get ‘em While They’re Hot!

If you go to Mets games frequently enough (season tickets, weekly plan, etc.), then you’ll be happy to know you’re entitled to purchase an authentic set of seats from Shea Stadium. It’s an exciting opportunity that will cost you $869 for a pair of seats but worth much more to the true baseball fan. Green, red, blue and orange seating will be available as of today. If you don’t catch the Mets frequently but still want to plunk down your hard-earned cash for some seats, don’t fret: August 25th at 9 AM is when you get your shot. Too expensive? Skip the seats and settle for shoes.

All proceeds will go to the Mets Foundation, a charity that funds and promotes “a variety of charitable causes, including educational, social and athletic programs for young people in the community.”

Cellphones, Charities and Extreme Sports

We talk about all three of the above topics here at Gearfuse. What better way to merge them all together than a charity auction being held for the Tony Hawk Foundation? If you head over to eBay right now, you’ll find the mother-load of charity auctions that features a DUB Edition Jeep Wrangler customized for Tony Hawk, VIP tix to the sweet Boom Boom Huck Jam tour and a Tony Hawk Edition Sidekick LX.

So to review, you’ll be getting a sweet:

-Tricked out Jeep Wrangler with massive DUBs and other goodies
-Pair of (VIP!) tickets to a sick skateboarding/extreme sports show
-A tricked out Tony Hawk Edition Sidekick LX from T-Mobile
-Pass to meet Tony Hawk before the show (see above)

This is pretty much as good as an auction gets for the 18-25 age group, of which I happen to fall into. Right now the bidding is at $45,100, so make sure your Paypal account is loaded. Hit the link for the auction and your chance to make a kid’s life better via the Tony Hawk Foundation.
