Spy Pics: SonyEricsson thin 3G candybar and slider due May

se_may.jpg

SonyEricsson is preparing an announcement in May; supposedly at least 2 handsets would be introduced, the Shinobu (above, left) and Nicole (above, right). These devices (and the W580i) would use a modified UI with a reorganization of keys, namely the addition of dial-hang up buttons. We enlarged the original pictures so that you can see the SonyEricsson watermark too, please excuse the pixelation. The 5 megapixels prototype we showed you might not be introduced just yet The messaging device(s) that we also reported might be released in the form of their variants, or at a later date.

Shinobu should be a 12.5mm thick HSDPA slider with a large 2.4″ QVGA screen and a 2megaixels fixed focus camera, it should be retailed at about €430 ($550).

Nicole should be a 13mm thick WCDMA candybar with a 2.1″ 176×220 screen and a 2megapixels fixed focus camera, it should be retailed at about €190 ($240). This could be the first phone released with the Sagem ODM deal. –Sam Chan

Is it a HiFi? No it’s just a cellphone

hifi1.jpg

You’ve got to give it to them, Chinese companies these days are just commercializing phones that we’ve all just dreamed of at some stage. We had the Nokia N73 clone — Nokir E828 that packed an even larger touch screen with a decent camera at an unbeatable price; we had a cigarette pack incorporated to a phone. Today we came across this Thunder Super Radio HiFi phone with a huge huge huge soundblaster, built on the back, that is extremely loud and clear. The screen is a 2.4″ TFT and the camera is of 1.3 megapixels. The phone takes microSD cards, and can play MP3 and MP4. The extra screen on the back can display track information such as artist and song title. For now we do not have much details about the phone, apart from the fact that it’s being sold in Taiwan and runs on Dualband GSM. More pictures after the jump.

Gearfuse Plumbers: A glimpse of LG’s SLVR-killer KE770 SHINE-candybar

lg ke770 shine

So we know that the keyword for LG in 2007 is SHINE, we have the SHINE slider coming to the European and American markets. How about a SHINE candybar? Well, this is what the KE770 is about. Shiny, silver, smooth screen that does not sink into the body and acts as a mirror when turned off. This has already won some design awards prior the official announcement. For once, a Motorola SLVR-killer without much copying. CES is coming up next week. Stay tuned. — Sam Chan
