Diamond Chess Set is Too Opulent for Opulence

Featuring a ridiculous 9900 black and white diamonds, this Diamond Chess Set goes beyond opulence and skips right to “I’m so rich I use hundreds as toilet paper” and “I eat diamond encrusted cupcakes” money. The $224,000 price tag actually seems sort of low considering the crazy amount of craftmanship and the thousands of gems installed in the set. 4500 hours of artisanship was poured into this thing. Reasonable is pushing it. More stuff you will never have a chance... Continue reading

Man Down!: Enigma Battleship Drinking Game

Do you feel like simultaneously learning naval war strategy and getting shit-faced? Enigma, the Battleship Drinking Game, designed by Mauricio Harion is the sure fire way to hone your Battleship skills, while competing to save as many brain cells as possible. Instead of “ships” your opponent tries to blast away your shot glasses, which you must drink. Whoever is still standing by the end wins. At least, that’s my guess.

Homemade Papercraft Mario Board Game

Two things can make a man fall to his knees: video games and women. That’s why when I saw designer Ashley Buerkett’s Mushroom Kingdom board game, I instantly fell in love. First off, let’s focus on the intricacies and details involved here. Two NES controllers, a castle, mushrooms and a landscape right out of Yoshi’s Island. To boot, it’s all made out of paper, making it accessible for anyone who wants to build their own Mushroom Kingdom set. Of course... Continue reading

Monopoly Package Redesign

Rich Uncle Pennybags is very pleased with this new Monopoly set designed by Andy Mangold. Look at the packaging, the card holders, the lines of hotels and such; it’s quite the work of art. I love the rustic look the box gives off of a traditional board game. You know, the kind before mass-produced plastic, etc. The final package is just over 10″ x 10″ x 1.5″ and includes smaller containers for all of the various pieces and cards and... Continue reading

C Jump: Brainwash Your Kids Into Being Programmers

If you want your children to grow up to be big and strong nerds just like you, you’ve got to start teaching them young. And let’s face it, 11 year olds aren’t going to sit there and listen to you read from a C++ book. That’s where C Jump comes in for the win. Made for children 11 and up, C Jump is a board game (even geekier than other board games we’ve seen) which teaches kids the basics of... Continue reading
