Mazda Nagare Concept Car

Just what we need another sports utility vehicle to guzzle up the remaining fossil fuels we think we have.  Similar in design to nearly any SUV released in the last four years, the  Nagare concept car is going to be unveiled at the 2008 Moscow International Automobile Salon in late August.

Sporting monster truck tires, this SUV is sure to tear through every tree in Siberia, as that’s where it will sell well.  Nothing about this is environmentally friendly.  Al Gore would give this car two thumbs down. Where are the hydrogen powered cars?

El Scorpion Es Muy Caliente!

This Ferrari look-alike is the hottest eco-friendly car in existence. Proving that an automobile doesn’t have to run on fossil fuels to look stylish, the Ronn Motor Company has broken the mold that has plagued most  environmental friendly vehicles. Running on hydrogen instead of fuel, the Scorpion is the poster-child for alternative solutions to abandoning fossil fuels altogether. Packed with a whopping 289 HP stock and offering a twin turbo option producing 450 horsepower, the Scorpion is damned fast for a car with low CO2 and NOx emissions. It gets the equivalent of around 40 miles per gallon, ensuring that hydrogen pit stops will be sparse.

Baby’s First Car Logo: An Automotive Infancy

Car companies thrive by using a powerful logo to represent the brute force behind their vehicles. Ferrari uses a wild bucking horse. Jaguar uses a huge and powerful raging cat in mid-leap. Lamborghini uses the image of a charging bull. It’s all about the image of pure animalistic power!

Now, imagine if these companies were all of a sudden focused on a new demographic. What if, rather than focusing on men with inferiority complexes and people who love powerful machines, these companies were to focus on the highly-sought after “infant drivers” demographic. The logos would probably change a bit, and perhaps look something like this. (more…)

Exhaust Air Jack Is An Accident Waiting To Happen

exhaust-air-jack2.jpg

If you don’t know how to use a traditional jack, you can be putting yourself in a pretty shitty situation when you get a flat tire. Using the jack wrong could leave you with a scratched paint job and even a damaged axle. The Exhaust Air Jack takes away from the metal-on-metal damage factor, yet adds in a whole new risk factor to the mix.

Sure, the Exhaust Air Jack does a seemingly decent job of lifting your car, but does it not matter that it’s lifting your car, with the vehicle still running? Catching all of the flammable, toxic gases inside of a condensed balloon, with the car still running, doesn’t sound much safer or efficient to us then a typical jack. It might just save you some time though, as filling the Air Jack only takes about 30 seconds. Get yours for around $120. — Andrew Dobrow

Lego Camaro Is Greased Lightnin’!

00_legocamaro.jpg

Fans of the Camaro are among the most hardcore enthusiasts, as can can be seen by this Floridian Lego modeler. Crafting a Camaro using nothing but Legos. It sure would have been a chick magnet back in the late 70s.

To make sure the Camaro adopted all of the curves of a modern automobile, the designer seems to use some pieces from the Lego Technic line of brick tools. This model is complete with fake engine and pimped interior. Pretty damn impressive. (more…)

VoomPC-2 brings a fully functional PC into your dashboard

voompc-2

What’s not to love about super small form factor computers? The VoomPC-2 delivers the price that many other small form factor PCs havn’t been able to do yet. Unfortunately, it has to skimp on the features to do so. Luckly, they aren’t trying to sell this product for home media center usage. Their target market is the mid/high end car user who wants more tech up in the dash. Besides using up less power than a parking light, the VoomPC-2 has a complete power management system that protects it from power surges. If you already have that great sound system in you car with that sweet looking amp in your trunk, why not give it a companion that looks like an amp but does so much more? Prices start at $395 for barebone with few components and touch screens are sold separately for around $400. — Nik Gomez
