Halo Announcement On Horizon

Teenagers will be pleased to hear that Bungie will be making a big announcement at the Tokyo Game Show next week. Will it have to do with Halo 3 or will it be an entirely new game? Most of the news outlets are saying it’ll be an extension of Halo 3, possibly even an expansion of some sort. Either way, you need to shave those freshly grown pubes, drink your first cup of coffee and get ready to game.

Public Service Announcement On The Go

You don’t need a DJ Mobile to be able to make public announcements over a loud speaker. Take a look at this briefcase.  It’s transportable and it’s got a built-in sound system that includes a 20-watt amplifier and 4″ speakers.  While it may not have a toilet inside of it like the Gotta Go Briefcase, it’s got the next best thing.

What’s the next best thing, you ask? The ability to be able to announce to everyone that you’ve divorced Carolyn and you’re eloping with Sarah Palin. It can be powered for up to four hours by eight C batteries or an AC plug. At $350 bucks, embarrassing unwanted attention awaits you.

Steve Jobs Finally Speaks

After pissing off investors, causing Apple stock to fall and acting shadier than Mickey Rourke after posting bail, Steve Jobs has finally spoken on the issue of his personal health. He claims he is fine and doesn’t have cancer and that everyone should mind they’re fucking business, essentially. This lets everyone breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that Apple’s famous CEO is doing fine.

That said, now everyone is going to be screaming about the “Mac Tablet.” Ugh.

Some might argue that ice cream is not related to technology. If you saw how Ben & Jerry’s cranks out all those pints of Americone Dream, you’d probably beg to differ. Either way, every geek loves ice cream and today is Free Cone Day. Free Cone Day is when you go to a Ben & Jerry’s store (find yours here) and wait in line with a million other people for a free ice cream cone.

Don’t complain. Get out there and get a cone. I’m going for the Carmel Sutra. What flavor are you going to demand from B&J? Let us know in the comments.

SonyEricsson is preparing an announcement in May; supposedly at least 2 handsets would be introduced, the Shinobu (above, left) and Nicole (above, right). These devices (and the W580i) would use a modified UI with a reorganization of keys, namely the addition of dial-hang up buttons. We enlarged the original pictures so that you can see the SonyEricsson watermark too, please excuse the pixelation. The 5 megapixels prototype we showed you might not be introduced just yet The messaging device(s) that we also reported might be released in the form of their variants, or at a later date.

Shinobu should be a 12.5mm thick HSDPA slider with a large 2.4″ QVGA screen and a 2megaixels fixed focus camera, it should be retailed at about €430 ($550).

Nicole should be a 13mm thick WCDMA candybar with a 2.1″ 176×220 screen and a 2megapixels fixed focus camera, it should be retailed at about €190 ($240). This could be the first phone released with the Sagem ODM deal. –Sam Chan

blackberry pearl

The BlackBerry Pearl has redefined our thoughts of what eye candy should be. It’s slim design combined with the large beautiful screen cause one to think “iPod who?” Fortunately for Cingular customers, the BlackBerry Pearl has officially been released and is now available for anyone to buy. The Pearl is currently listed at $200 with a 2 year contract or $400 without. While the unit’s price tag might bite, it’s the monthly contracts that will kill in the end.
