Seat Belts to Handbags

If I recall correctly, the 1990s paved the way for seat belt fashions. I remember having a belt I purchased at Pacific Sunwear that was made up of an old GM seat belt. That’s sort of the same mindset designer Paolo Ferrari has in mind with his new line of handbags that are made from old car seat belts. His company, 959, is big on using recycled materials to create new looks with the bags being made up of 97% recycled stuff and 3% new fabric.

What do you think, ladies? Tres chic or just plain ugly?
