Obama’s Foursquare Account is Probably Bad for National Security

Want to spend hours stalking the check-ins of our current president? Announced today on the White House blog, you’ll now be able to track President Obama as he travels across the country — via Foursquare.

Obama’s presidency has involved a lot of social networking — his Facebook and Twitter accounts are two great examples of this. However, using Foursquare has already raised some concern for regular people, as sites such as “Please Rob Me” have pointed out. Knowing exactly where the President is could be a good thing for potential followers on social networks, but could also make the job of the Secret Service a lot more difficult.

Of course, they’ve probably already anticipated this, and will hopefully only post Obama’s locations at publicly announced events — and not when he’s just taking his kids out for ice cream.
