New Test Supports Faster-Than-Light Neutrinos

A few months ago, a team of physicists in Europe seemed to have witnessed the impossible — neutrinos in their tests were able to travel faster than the speed of light. Needless to say, this discovery was met with extreme skepticism from the scientific community, and further testing was encouraged.

Well, it looks like the faster-than-light neutrinos have passed a new test.

This is a big deal, because it directly challenges Einstein’s theory of relativity, and over 100 years of evidence-backed research. The new tests were specifically created to see if the original results of the first test were a result of an error. For now, it looks like the experiment — and its results — have been recreated.

So, does this mean that time travel could be possible? We can only hope.

  1. This is extraordinary! Wonder what Einstein would have thought.
