In one ad, Neato Robotics have conjured a little thirty second story that, they say, they know must be happening somewhere in the state of California right now. The scenario is a young boy’s birthday party. In front of him is the biggest piñata you’ve ever seen. His beautiful blonde earth-mother mom is encouraging him to bust open the piñata “with the energy of the earth”. He apparently summons this power and knocks the bottom of the big paper balloon. A torrent of…seaweed crisps…pours onto the carpet, and the mother encourages the children to feast. The children look appropriately excited for a pile of seaweed crisps. It’s a funny story. But imagine the mess? Life is full of situations like this, when crispy little crud pieces get ground into the carpet and fall between the slats of the hardwood floor.
