Mario Meets Michelangelo: La Piet Goes Geek

Based on Michelangelo’s famed sculpture, La Piet (which you can see after the jump), designer Kordian Lewandowski used a block of polystyrene foam to complete his very own work of art – the Nintendo-inspired Game Over sculpture.

Measuring slightly taller than an averaged sized man (seems to be about six-feet tall), Game Over mixes the drama of Renaissance art with the caricatured elements of gaming design. Sometimes I wish I had artistic talent, and then I remember how much I love both of my ears. I really hope this thing can withstand the elements, because it’s going right next to my T-Rex Statue.
