Kinetically-Powered Rake Concept

powerake

Rury Vizcarra’s Power Rake takes the work out of yard work by adding kinetic power to the rake’s arsenal. Powered by the motion of the rake’s front wheels, the Power Rake’s conveyor belt system allows the leaves to be gathered smoothly, without the hitches of the traditional comb-and-handle rake. Oh, and you can adjust the handle height which is great for your aching back.

I’ve been trying to rake through this devices design for an inconvenience or issue but I just can’t seem to rake one in. Hardy har.

Ora Watch Concept: How To Tell Time with Measuring Tape

ora1

Alexandros Stasinopoulos’s Ora Watch concept is interesting for a few reasons. I don’t typically wear clothing or accessories that would help people draw the conclusion that I look like a school bus (just like your momma). I’m not fat, I’m big wheeled. The numbers are read via measuring tape which revolves to tell the time.

Thankfully there are a few color options, including blue and my personal favorite, good ole black. I’d rock it like a KISS concert.

Braille E-book Reader

braille-e-bookjpg

While the Amazon Kindle 2 is a fresh take on an e-book reader with its ability to read back books to you, some people who have a visual impairment could use something they can feel rather than hear. That’s the idea behind this concept braille e-book reader. Bumps change on a dynamic surface that can emulate braille, thus bringing a whole new world of reading to the blind.

Dynamically Augmenting Wheel System: Wheels That Remind Us of a Pizza Pie

daws_9

Dynamically Augmenting Wheel System, or DAWS, might sound like some sort of high-tech mumbo jumbo, and for the most part, it is pretty complex. The conceptually designed wheels are divided into eight separate parts which adjust to the car’s center of gravity without losing traction.

You know how motorcycle wheels sort of shift under the driver’s weight as they turn? It’s sort of like that. The segmented wheels allow your car to have the effect of rounded wheels, without the lack of support or balance. And the best part about the whole finished product? They look fucking awesome. The bad news… they don’t taste like pizza. (more…)
