Turntable Clock Made Using Actual Recycled Turntable

turntable-clock

Let’s keep the scratchin’ going to the early morn. Yeahhhh, boooooy.

Made using an old, retired Fischer turntable and a rockin’ Doobie Brothers vinyl album, the Turntable Clock WAS available on Etsy, but has since sold out. I’m guessing there was only one available in the first place, but who knows, more might pop up if you’re lucky,

Wonder Woman Reebok Sneakers

wonder-woman-shoes

I can’t be too sure whether these are women’s exclusive or if dudes can rock these bad boys as well. I don’t care how queer it might sound, I would totally rock a pair of these. I’d rock them like a hurricane. I’d rock them like a lobster. I’d rock them like Zeppelin. You get the point?

Even if they were only woman sizes, I’d get a size 15 pretend and I didn’t know. If rocking these Wonder Woman Reeboks is feminine, then I am woman, here me roar mothatrucka. If I ever get my hands on one of those exclusive pairs of Nike sneakers, these would fit right in.

Star Trek Enterprise Record Player

star-trek-enterprise-record-player_01

Always more of a Star Wars guy than a Trekkie, I still couldn’t help but shit myself just a tad when I saw this awesome Star Trek Enterprise Record Player concept. Had no one really thought about this before? Was there not a similar creation already in existence? It seems so clear!

Inspired by the USS Enterprise starfleet from the Star Trek TV series and featured on the Star Trek Model Gallery, the Enterprise Record Player could be the ultimate in geeky vinyl gear. Would it be scandalous to listen to my Star Wars Dub record on here? (more…)

Famicon Controller Business Card Holder Will Impress Your Gamer Boss

nes-business-card-holder

Start praying, right now, that your boss is a gamer. Because if not, your Banpresto Famicon Controller Business Card Holder might not have the impression you were hoping for.

Needless to say, this case isn’t going to work for every career. Lawyers and doctors would likely be better off with a nice leather case, or at least something with a bit more class. But if you’re in the tech, internet or art industry, I don’t see why you can’t rock this like the Rolling Stones rocked Altamont.

What To Do With A Broken Mouse? DIY Toothbrush Holder

diy-mouse-toothbrush-holder

Have a few dead computer mouses laying around? They’re probably sitting in the same spot you keep the skeletons in your closet. You might be having some trouble parting with them. And that’s fine, totally normal. People become attached to inanimate objects all the time.

So, if you want to actually do something USEFUL with those dead mice, you might as well sit down at your work bench for a few minutes, wipe down the foot of dust on its surface from its lack of use, and strip down the mouse so you can use it as a nifty toothbrush / razor holder. Why the hell not, right?

Record Table Made of Recycled Classic Rock Vinyl Records

albumsidetable

There have been countless methods of recycling your old, abandoned, bong water-stained vinyl, but none that have integrated the actual casing and cover art as well. If you have such epic records as Led Zeppelin’s IV, there is no reason NOT to show them off some how.

BUGHOUSE designed this unique record table, which would fit spectacularly into your den of devil worship. It’s much more thoughtful than simply throwing them in the trash bin, surely.

Star Wars Celebrities: Yoda DeVito, Ewokchop and Elvis Solo

celebwars3

If Star Wars was reproduced as a modern parody, who would be cast in the hilariously sacrilegious resulting film? Photoshop contest headquarters Worth1000.com has it covered with their Celebrity Star Wars contest.

My three favorites are Yoda DeVito, Ewokchop and Elvis Solo. Lambchop just looks so much cuddlier as an Ewok!

Star Wars Dub: Coolest Record Ever Available on eBay

starwarsdub

This is the sort of thing you can only find on eBay these days. Let me introduce “Star Wars Dub.” Perhaps the geekiest reggae recording ever produced (and by master producer Phil Pratt, no less.) And this is no average Star Wars Dub record. This is the special edition blue vinyl version.

As of this posting the album was bid up to $11.16. You can expect this rare record to fetch nearly $100, if not upwards of that. But damn, if that won’t be the best $100 you’ve ever spent in your life. We imagine this is the sort of music that Jar Jar jams out too. Hit the jump for a complete album playlist.

Expand Your Social Network With Poken

These adorable little devices called Poken are used to exchange social networking info among new found friends who have their own Poken. No one cares to jot down email addresses, user IDs and screen names when they’re in a rush. So, the Poken have been created as a quick way to exchange such information in a matter of seconds. All it takes is a ‘high five’ from your Poken to your new found friend’s Poken. RF technology then sends the info between the devices. The next time you log on to your favorite site, your profiles are linked.

Poken are just $20 dollars and are capable of storing up to 64 contacts before each upload. Each time you add a new contact, your Poken’s hand will light up green. When you approach your limit for contacts, an orange warning light will show from the Poken’s hand, warning you that you’re being too much of a social slut. When all is said and done, you can use your online Poken account to choose which of your profiles you want to share. A precaution in case you want to prevent a shady new friend from accessing personal information. Goodbye business cards, hello Poken!

TEXTile: Recycled Keyboard Keys Find Purpose Again

Jean Shin is pretty cool. First, we saw her bizarre melted wave of vinyl records (we hope no Journey vinyl was used.) Now, we’re taking a look at Jean Shin’s TEXTile, an interactive sculpture that’s comprised of 22,528 recycled keyboard keys that are fashioned in a way to make it appear as a tapestry. At its base is a customized active keyboard which works with interactive software, so anything you type becomes part of the sculpture when it is displayed on the video projection.

If you just so happen to be in the Philadelphia area, check out the Permanent Collection of Fabric Workshop and Museum. TEXTile and some of Jean Shin’s other work can be found there. If you find that some of the keys on the TEXTile are a little sticky, stay away from them. These are recycled keys, after all.
