Best Buy Leaks Black Friday Ad; Will Pass Out Tickets to Avoid Consumer Stampede

bestbuy

Best Buy’s Black Friday ad has leaked, which means it’s time to do some serious itinerary planning for the big day. See, I like me and my fiancee set up a full contingency plan based on what we want the most for us, then comes gifts for others. Come on, we need to set priorities people! Strategy is the name of the game on Black Friday.

So Best Buy has some moderately cool deals, especially in the video game department, but nothing mind-blowing. Though what might be notable is that Best Buy is not going to allow for anyone to get hurt this year because of their doorbuster deals. Apparently they don’t take “death by stampede” lightly. All doorbuster sales will be handled via tickets, which will be passed out up to two hours before the 5 am door openings. Hit the jump for a full-list of Black Friday Best Buy deals. Doorbusters are followed by an asterisk.

Review: AKG K 340 In-Canal and K 450 Over Ear Headphones

k-450

After years of building up their name in the recording industry, AKG released a slew of consumer headphones, ready for us in the States to dabble with. I’ve had the opportunity to play around with both the K 340 and K 450 models, both portable, though in-canal and foldable respectively. After a week or so of listening to these phones it became clear that AKG is just as serious about their consumer headphones as they are about their professional grade equipment.

American Airlines make sure the rich are even more comfortable

aa-copy.jpg

Instead of making some small improvements for the coach sections of their planes, American Airlines has chosen to make first-class even more of a pompous title. The new AA 777’s will feature an updated “Next Generation Business Class Product”. While us back in the coach section will still be lounging with the rats and sleeping on sheets of metal.

The changes will include ergonomic power seating with 5 motors, “lie flat” seating which will allow the chair to transform into a 76-inch bed, seats that slide up 10 inches, so you don’t have to converse to the snob next to you, Bose noise canceling headphones, and a tilting LCD monitor. Coach will look something like this. — Andrew Dobrow

Noise-canceling windows shut out your neighbors

window.jpg

Let’s be honest. If you live in the suburbs or the city, there is no way that you like everyone who lives around you. Maybe they are constantly screaming or having their dog outside barking. You figure the dog has to shut up sometime, but it never does. Using piezoelectric patches, these specially designed windows cancel outside noise. The way that normal windows are made are highly sensitive to noise vibration. The patches absorb most of it.

If you don’t want to shell out the money for triple paned glass, the windows with noise-canceling have got to be the number one choice now that they’re available. Of course, if there were to be a national emergency, and everyone outside was screaming in agony, these windows might hamper your safety. Meh. Oh, well. — Andrew Dobrow

New Sony high end noise cancelling headphones

sony mdr-nc60

If you need new headphones, noise canceling technology is sure to wow your friends if they ever take a look. While the prices for noise canceling are constantly falling, take a look at these nice new Sony headphones. The MDR-NC60 has been released in Japan for about $200. These noise cancelers make sure that those pesky people surrounding you will not be a problem anymore.

So what else does $200 get you? One thing is better quality padding around your ears, which provides for a better and more comfortable seal to help keep your music in and other sounds out. Another cool little addon is the airplane adapter so that you can plug your MDR-NC60 into those odd jacks. AAA batteries fuel the headphones for about 30 hours, a good deal longer than the longest plane ride. And if the people around you are all asleep (one can only dream), just turn off the noise canceling to save power. — Nik Gomez

New iLuv i201 ear clip headphones: cheap and nice looking

iluv i201 ear clips

Many people have tried the ear clip style of headphone. They are really interesting for about a half an hour, until you realize either that they are the reason you ears hurt, or that everyone is staring at those alien looking things in your ears. If the new iLuv i201 headphones can overcome those obstacles, they probably have a good change at making it in the market. Priced at $13, these headphones are great for the iPod user who wants to ditch their horrible stock headphones but does not want to commit to a $100 set of noise canceling, over the head style piece of machinery. They do look rather nice. They aren’t as bony as some other ear clip headphones are, the have some substance. Because they utilize the plug style ear pieces, they do a good job of blocking outside noise that you want to to leave you alone. Another nice little feature? You don’t have to worry about extensions if the cord is too short because it comes with an adjuster built into the cord. The come in either iPod white or black to match for fashionable Christmas gift.

New red Aliph Jawbone redefines the Bluetooth headset style

aliph jawbone bluetooth headset

The Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth headset was created to revolutionize how headsets worked and the quality with which they delivered you your conversations. It works with multiple tiny microphones to provide a superb noise-canceling headset that improves call quality. It is able to detect the difference between your voice and every other ambient sound that shouldn’t be put through to the person you are talking to so that they only hear you. This removes the need to repeat yourself over and over.

The Jawbone not only uses revolutionary technology to work perfectly, it also looks great. It sets itself apart from the other clunky headsets by having its design defined by its name. This device doesn’t protrude away from your head, instead it curves slightly to the contours of your face. It is very small and short, and is now available in red. The Jawbone goes for about $120. To be the highest tech guy in your office, isn’t it worth it?
