If you really suck at video games or you’re just a no good untrustworthy cheating sonofabitch, then the AcidMods Spit-Fire Controller was made just for you. This Xbox 360 controller mod has two special function buttons which are fully programmable that will give your pudgy fingers an edge against competition that is clearly superior to you in Call Of Duty 4.

Demonstrated in the video are some of the macros that can be assigned to the all new back buttons installed on the controller.  A button in the center of the controller can remap the keys and change their macros.  Shown here we have the player being able to rapidly fire his pistol, as if he was using a turbo button. Cool mod, but will it be cool after it gets you banned from Xbox Live?  Sure it will! They can’t ban ya from a single-player campaign. In your face, Microsoft!

Are you that guy who needed 30 lives to beat the original Contra? We know you and so does Google apparently. Google has taken your favorite cheat code of all time (you sly bastard) and integrated it into Google Apps.

To check out the Easter Egg, you’ll need to login to your Google account, bring up Google Reader (Ryan confirmed this) and chill for a second. After the chill, enter in the Konami Code (UUDDLRLRBA), kick back and watch.

Oh and no one could beat that fucking game without 30 lives, so don’t fret.

When I play The Sims, I can’t help but feel a bit envious. Here they are, completely fictional characters with absolutely no care in the world. I envy them because they more often than not are in much better financial status than I am. The Sims Visa Card will just throw that fact in our faces even more blatantly.

Over at The Sims website you can vote for your favorite design. The winning design will have its own designated spot in the Visa family. If Visa really wants people to take notice, they’d have a cheat code feature like the one in The Sims, that instantly adds $50,000 to our bank accounts. And if we’re in some weird parallel universe and we’re actually being controlled by some overzealous gamer, than he should start kicking some ass in the cheat department for my character. — Andrew Dobrow

Good news, in addition to the new maps coming out on Thursday, Gears of War will have whole slew of game update tomorrow January 10.

• Fixed aspect ratio distortion when using VGA cable with 4:3 displays at resolutions higher than 640×480
• Fixed voice issue with new players joining Player Match games in progress
• Players can now get the Achievement for “Dish Best Served Cold” when using Troika turret to kill RAAM
• Fixed rare situation where host could loop countdown and never start match
• Fixed rare situation where players could get stuck after chainsawing in multiplayer
• Reduced Grenade Tag melee distance
• Enabled “Strict� NAT check on host to prevent possible connection issues
